Create Film Fife (CFF) was launched in 2019 by Gavin Hugh of MidgieBite Media, in order to showcase, celebrate and promote creative filmmaking talent within Fife, throughout Scotland and beyond. It was formerly known as the Creative Film Fife Network until 2024.
Our Facebook group has been active since 2019, where filmmakers and creators have shared tips, links to their own projects and networked with new collaborators. The first networking event was held in April 2019 at the Cupcake Coffee Box café in Kirkcaldy, hosted by MidgieBite Media, which showcased film clips, trailers and live performances from Fife’s film creatives. A second Halloween-themed event, hosted by Glass Bullet Media, took place in Glenrothes in October later that same year.
Our May 2020 networking event at the Kings Live Lounge in Kirkcaldy was unfortunately cancelled due to the coronavirus outbreak. However, our new website launched in April 2020, giving the network a home online, along with a podcast. An online film networking night was held in Autumn 2020. Later, in early 2021, we launched our online directory for Fife-based or Fife-connected films.
Moving forward, we’re looking forward to hosting events which will continue to showcase and celebrate Fife’s film talent.
